Divine Mercy Chaplet

After I copied the bellow from the app to make it easier to access I found that the Marian Fathers already have a website with more information and laid out much better than I have. I’ll keep this page as I already typed it up but I would deferrer any visitors to the divine mercy website or see links to parts I found helpful to get started as it may feel a bit overwhelming to start off:

• Start with the sign of the cross

• On the first big bead

  Show Optional Opening Prayer

  You expired, Jesus,
  but the source of life gushed forth for souls,
  and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world.
  O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy,
  envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.

  O Blood and Water,
  which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us,
  I trust in You! (3x)

• On the three small beads say

  • 1. Pray an Our Father
    Show words

    Our Father, who art in Heaven,
    hallowed by Thy Name;
    Thy kingdom come;
    Thy will be done on earth
    as it is in Heaven.
    Give us this day
    our daily bread;
    and forgive us our trespasses
    as we forgive those who trespass against us;
    and lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from evil. Amen.

  • 2. Pray a Hail Mary

• On each of the remaining large beads pray:
  The Eternal Father
  Eternal Father,
  I offer You the Body and Blood,
  Soul and Divinity
  of Your dearly beloved Son,
  Our Lord Jesus Christ,
  in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

• On each of the remaining small beads pray:
  For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,
  have mercy on us and on the whole world.

• Closing Prayers
  Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. (x3)

  Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless,
  and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible,
  look kindly upon us,
  and increase Your mercy in us,
  that in difficult moments,
  we might not despair, nor become despondent,
  but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your holy will,
  which is Love and Mercy Itself. Amen.
